The North Union girls bowling team put together an outstanding effort recently in the Central Buckeye Conference tournament at Victory Lanes. In their best-ever finish in the tournament, the Lady Cats placed second overall in the Mad River Division with a total pin count of 3463. That is a new school record. North Union used a strong first half to get past Northwestern 64-56 on Friday in Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball at Northwestern. The Wildcats (16-3 overall, 7-2 CBC) scored 19 points in each of the first two quarters to take a 38-18 halftime lead. The Warriors (4-15, 2-7) finished strong with a 23-point fourth quarter, but North Union held off the rally.
