Visitors to the Union County Courthouse will have to use the north entrance (facing Fifth Street) starting this week. Construction will begin on the south entrance, pictured above, and will run through Jan. 4 as part of the renovation of the justice center. The courthouse parking lot will have construction barriers preventing the public from accessing the south entrance but parking with still be available in the lot. An Ostrander man was killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning. Tony Autrey, 53, was heading northbound on U.S. 42 when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a semi just before 6 a.m. Saturday morning in the Village of Arnold. Pictured above, emergency crews responded to the scene and found Autrey’s Honda resting on a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County Coroner’s Office. Saturday, July 4, the Columbus Clippers baseball team celebrated all the veterans who attended the game. The organization invited the MASH (Military and Service Heroes) Pantry to the game as special guests. First Class Airman Walter Groves of the United States Air Force, lifelong resident of Marysville and Union County, was recognized during the ceremony on the field at home plate. Robert E. Kirkpatrick, 83, of Marysville, died Wednesday evening, July 17, 2019 at The Ohio State Medical Center after a brief illness. He worked at Tecumseh Products in Marion for over 22 years before working for and retiring from PPG in Delaware in 1999. He and his wife enjoyed 20 years of traveling to and from Florida as “snowbirds.” He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, wood carving, working in his woodshop and reading Westerns.
