Fairbanks’ boys cross-country team competed in the Tiffin Country Carnival event on Saturday. The Panthers placed 11th out of 29 teams. There were 170 runners in the race. FHS athletes placed as follows: Nathan Parks, 43rd; Zeke Gingerich, 49th; Cameron Nisly, 64th; Nicholas Johnson, 81st; and Bryce Nisly, 98th. No times were reported. North Union competed Saturday in the McGowan Invitational cross-country meet at Watkins Memorial. The Lady Cats finished 14th overall, led by Ashley Hayward, who finished 46th in the time of 23:41.4. The Bunsold eighth-grade football team recently rolled past Olentangy Hyatts, 44-8. In doing so, the Monarchs upped their record to 3-0 for the 2021 season. Bunsold tallied 409 yards of total offense and the defense only allowed 97. The Monarchs’ rushing attack was led by Corbin Wallace’s 123 yards on nine carries with a trio of touchdowns. Identified by daytime feeding and a very distinct inverted “Y” in their heads, the insects were named because of their tendency to move in masses rapidly across areas, feeding on more than 80 different crop species. While recently hiking the Barr trail to the top of the 14,115-foot Pike’s Peak, Marysville resident Kevin Behrens and his son, Berkley, 12, met former Plain City area resident James Yoder and his son, Deland, 11.
