Fairbanks’ boys golf team won the Ohio Heritage Conference championship on Tuesday. The Panthers carded a score of 318 during the match that was held at Windy Knoll. Cole Eger and Chase Brackenridge both shot a 79 to lead FHS. Alex Crowe and Andrew Crowe both finished with an 80. The Panthers captured first place honors in the OHC North Division. Greenon, which won the South Division, finished as runner-up in Tuesday’s tournament. Marysville’s volleyball team slipped to 8-7 with Tuesday’s loss at Dublin Jerome. The Lady Monarchs fell 20-25, 7-25, 23-25. Rylee Dundon led MHS with 10 kills. First responders were dispatched to the scene of an injury crash on Route 4 at Route 347 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Officials at the scene said no drivers or passengers required EMS transport from the crash site. Elsie L. Bradley, 92, of Marysville died Sunday morning, Sept. 19, at Memorial Hospital in Marysville following many months of failing health. She was a longtime volunteer with the Hope Center Clothes Closet and enjoyed spending time with friends at the VFW. Her past time included working “Seek and Find” puzzles and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved deeply. She was born April 2, 1929 in Beaver to the late Herschel and Nancy Murphy Reisinger. Martin “Craig” Opphile died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, Sept. 12, at Memorial Hospital. He was born March 6, 1955 in Marysville to the late Elmer Martin and Gretchen Fife Opphile. He married the former Linda L. Queen on Jan. 24, 1978 at the First Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2018 after 40 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip “Jeffrey” Opphile. He is survived by his son, Craig Jordan Opphile of Marysville; several nieces and nephews and friends. United Way of Union held a food drive for its recent kick-off its annual campaign at UCO Industries. This year’s goal is $1,000,052 to emphasize the campaign theme “$52 in ‘22” encouraging every Union County resident to donate $1 a week to help UWUC’s 29 local partner agencies dedicated to providing programming to ensure economic stability, access to health, childhood/youth success and senior engagement. More than 20 local businesses and organizations donated non-perishables to help fill the shelves of local food pantries. Charles “Terry” Hill, 72, of Delaware died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1949 in Kenton to the late Charles M. and Janice E. (Current) Hill. He was a 1967 graduate of Buckeye Valley High School and then attended DeVry University where he earned an electronics degree. He served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the City of Upper Arlington – Traffic Division and was an active farmer. According to Marysville Police Department reports: Reese Karter Chapman, 18, of Northcrest Drive was cited for criminal trespassing in the 100 block of Northcrest Drive at 7:01 a.m. Friday. The citation stemmed from a Sept. 12 incident in which a reporting person asked for Chapman to be removed from her home.
