The Jerome Township Division of Fire, with assistance from other local crews, responded to a garage fire that spread through a residence early Monday morning. Triad Local Schools honored its top scholars during the district’s graduation ceremony recently. Triad’s Class of 2020 valedictorian is Bailey Nicole Perry. Kendell Paige Hughes was honored as salutatorian. The top ten were rounded out by Jacob Allen Simonelli, Carsyn McGuire Thomas, Gracie Mae Sheets, Sidney Grace Louck, Anna Ruth Nott, Gregory Michael Sizemore, Andrew Timothy O’Neal and Jordyn Nicole Unger. Andrew Burl Mayer, 62, of Plain City died Saturday evening June 6, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 8, 1958 in Marysville. He grew up and lived his childhood dream to become a farmer. He lived his entire life on the family farm in Madison County. He was a 1977 graduate of Jonathan Alder High School. Earlene Janet Hall, 79, of North Lewisburg, Ohio died Friday, June 5, 2020, in the Blue Bird Retirement Community. She was born Sept. 7, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Earl Leroy and Frances Evelyn (Watkins) Williams. She was a former member of the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She was an avid pet lover enjoyed reading and playing solitaire. Country duo Maddie and Tae was announced today as the headline entertainment for Friday, Aug. 14, at the All Ohio Balloon Fest, as organizers work with local public health professionals to institute new safety guidelines.
