Units from the Richwood Police Department, Northern Union County Fire and EMS District, Leesburg Township Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department and Scioto Valley Fire District responded to a barn fire at 12654 Mulvane Road at 12:57 p.m. Thursday. Northern Union County Chief Randy Riffle said the fire was accidentally caused by an agricultural burn after the wind blew sparks toward the barn, causing it to catch fire. What a weird primary election cycle. One thing that was not unusual was that the northern part of Union County decided the election. That has been true for quite a while when it comes to county race. The couple was married May 16, 1970 at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky by Dr. Edgar Houghton and the Rev. Robert Lawrence. Honda has resumed production at the Marysville Auto Plant. Production was stopped in March and associates were furloughed. Officials said the production start-up will be gradual. On the first day back to work, associates learned new safety measures for the plant, specific to their job. Associates will be required to scan their temperature before coming into the plant and wear a mask while working. Plain City artist Hilary Frambes is using different mediums to honor the Jonathan Alder Class of 2020. Frambes is pictured painting a mural with the JA logo, which will be signed by senior students. It will be used during the Jonathan Alder virtual commencement events and later displayed in Uptown Plain City. Roberta “Birdie” Morton, 85, died Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Prestige Gardens Nursing Home in Marysville. She was born May 15, 1934 in Louisa, Kentucky to Charlie and Thelma Blankenship. Rosalie Hobbs Phelps celebrates her 90th birthday today. She was born the 12th child of Elisha and Laura Hobbs in Apple Grove, West Virginia. She married Ivan Phelps (deceased in 2013) in 1948. They had four children, Roger (deceased), Marlene, Rita and Cheryl. She has six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
