Ronald and Kathryn (Rausch) McKenzie will celebrate their 50th anniversary Saturday. The couple was married April 25, 1970 by the Rev. Oscar Decker at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marysville. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He is retired from Century Link after 39 years. She is retired from PPG Industries in Delaware after 29 years. Since students will not return to schools this academic year, Jonathan Alder is finding creative ways to recognize seniors. The district joined many throughout the state that turned on their stadium lights at 8:20 p.m. (20:20 military time) Monday for 20 minutes and 20 seconds in recognition of the class of 2020. According to Marysville Police Department reports: Brandon Huff, 27, of W. Seventh Street was arrested for burglary (trespassing in an occupied structure) in the 1200 block of W. Fifth Street at 2:52 a.m. Tuesday. Reports indicate Huff kicked in the door of an apartment in the 400 block of Windmil Drive when there were multiple occupants inside, including children. Just hours after Gov. Mike DeWine announced that schools in Ohio would not reopen this academic year, the Fairbanks School Board met Monday to discuss what happens next. “We will continue to deliver remote learning for the remainder of the school year,” Superintendent Adham Schirg told the board. “Gov. A Michigan man is in custody following a Sunday pursuit in excess of 100 mph on U.S. 33 while driving a vehicle stolen out of Columbus. Sgt. Jeremy Allen of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Demarco Washington, 21, of Benton Harbor, Michigan was checked for speeding while traveling westbound on U.S. 33 near mile marker 3, near Honda Parkway. A trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Allen said Washington failed to yield. The trooper then initiated a pursuit at 6:27 a.m. that traveled about 10 miles into Logan County. Evelyn I. Hoffman, 79, of Marysville died Tuesday afternoon, April 14, with her loving family by her side after months of failing health. Family was the center of her life and she cared deeply and appreciated the company of her children and grandchildren. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing and listening to Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. She was born July 9, 1940 to the late Robert and Daisy Underhill Cook.
