Another red-hot offensive night by junior Jack Christian led to Marysville’s 63-54 varsity boys basketball victory at Westland on Friday. CHRISTIAN Christian tallied 21 of his game-high 35 points from beyond the three-point arc as MHS upped its record to 2-0. Ryan Barlow joined Christian in double figures with 10 points. The Monarchs took a 16-8 lead into the second quarter and a 34-30 edge at halftime. Christian fired in 13 points during the third period as the Monarchs pulled out to a 53-44 margin. Macy Miller scored 10 points on Thursday as Fairbanks’ girls basketball team won its first game of the 2019-20 season. The Lady Panthers (1-2) rolled to a 50-19 victory over Northeastern. FHS held a 13-8 margin by the end of the opening quarter and then limited the Jets to four points over the second and third frames.
