This week is Spirit Week at Marysville High School, with the Homecoming game against Upper Arlington set for Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The homecoming parade will be Thursday at 6:15 p.m. and travel down Sixth Street to Main, then north to Elwood Avenue and Maple Street. After the parade, the traditional bonfire and pep rally will be held, but this year’s event will take place at the Union County Fairground. Marysville Mayor J.R. Rausch speaks to the crowd at the new Kroger Marketplace’s grand opening this morning. The store opened at 8 a.m., while the ceremony was at 9 a.m. During the ceremony the results of an online vote by shoppers were announced, resulting in Marysville Care Train being given $2,000, Marysville Band Boosters being given $3,000 and the Union County Humane Society being given $5,000.
