Marysville’s boys hoop squad slipped to 1-2 with a 71-67 loss to Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday. The Monarchs held a 17-16 edge after the opening period. Marysville’s varsity grapplers began their 2020-21 season on a solid note on Saturday. The Monarchs won all five of their matches during the Harrison Duals tournament. MHS rolled past Lakota East, 64-9, defeated Monroe, 54-20, turned back Lebanon, 56-15, toppled host Harrison, 54-27, and blanked Talawanda, 69-0. The Lady Monarchs of Marysville tipped off the 2020-21 campaign with a 60-35 triumph at Thomas Worthington on Friday. MHS took a 9-8 edge after the first period and a 21-16 margin at halftime. The Lady Monarchs (who will host Bloom Carroll on Monday) opened up their offense in the third period. Kass Lee tallied 10 points during the quarter and Marysville climbed to a 48-23 advantage.
