A Marysville High School athlete from long ago will enter the school’s athletic Hall of Fame on Friday. The late Allen Bump, who graduated from MHS in 1929, will join along with three-sport standout Mike Adkins, retired head baseball coach Ed Starling and football stat guru Ron Sabins for enshrinement. Bump was a football and basketball player for the Monarchs. He was Marysville’s starting halfback during the 1926, 1927 and 1928 campaigns. The 1927 season was especially impressive for Bump. Marysville High School’s varsity wrestling team scored a pair of dual victories over the weekend at Kettering Fairmont. The 2019-20 high school hoop season marks the 50th anniversary of North Union’s boys district basketball championship. The Wildcats won a Class A district title by beating East Knox, 76-64, in the district finals. It remains the only district championship in NU boys’ basketball history.
