According to Marysville Police Department reports: An officer conducted a traffic stop at the 17700 block of state Route 4 and Scott Farms Boulevard on a vehicle for an equipment violation on Wednesday at 3:56 p.m., which resulted in the arrest of Tristen Hunter Griesmann, 19, of Marion for driving under suspension, driving without a motorcycle endorsement and failure to display registration. Gary Steinhardt, of Keil, Wisconsin, was cited for obedience to traffic following a two vehicle traffic crash at 12:01 p.m., Tuesday. According to police reports, Steinhardt was driving a 2015 Volvo semi-truck, owned by PTX Services of Wisconsin, north on Maple Street. Steinhardt allegedly failed to stop at the intersection and hit a 2002 Honda Accord, being driven east on Collins Avenue by a 27-year-old Marysville man. A group of community members, businesses and organizations are teaming up to save lives. WINGS Support and Recovery is hosting an Overdose Awareness Day event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Memorial Health Pavilion in Partners Park. The event will feature speeches, resources, crafts and free food and is open to everyone. Marysville Police Officer Amy Findley was at the council meeting Monday night to introduce the group to the city’s new therapy dog, Mercy. The Labrador retriever was born in March and has been living with Findley’s family undergoing training. Findley said the dog will undergo more extensive training once she turns 1. The dog’s mission is to calm individuals in distress and to deescalate difficult situations. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas and Preserves is hosting a free program to allow residents to explore Big Darby Creek State and National Scenic River at McKitrick Park in Plain City on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Attendees will be able to search for wildlife and learn how the Ohio Scenic Rivers Program works with community volunteers to determine stream health based on animals found in the water.
