Marysville High School has found an opponent to take the place of Upper Arlington on the boys basketball schedule. The Monarchs were originally slated to host the Golden Bears on Tuesday of this week. That game, however, was called off as MHS had to reschedule the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division game against Thomas Worthington. The Thomas Worthington contest was postponed from last Friday due to inclement weather. Marysville won’t play Upper Arlington due to the fact there were no compatible dates for both teams. Thousands upon thousands of fans, including those of the Cincinnati Bengals, invaded Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Championship game this past weekend. They left stunned as the Bengals upset the favored Chiefs, 27-24, in overtime. That has earned Cincinnati its first Super Bowl berth since after the 1988 regular season. The Bengals will travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Sunday, Feb. 13. Larry Fox has worn many athletic hats over the past half-century. The Marysville native has been involved in high school sports in one way or another since 1970. Whether it was coaching, officiating or serving in a support role with the MHS football program, Fox has been quite active. Jonathan Alder’s girls hoopsters remained unbeaten in the Central Buckeye Conference. The Lady Pioneers raised their Kenton Trail Division record to 7-0 and their overall mark at 14-4 with a 44-35 victory over Bellefontaine.
